Wow! An unnamable source has forwarded me a copy of Neko Case's forthcoming live album! (This person told me that release dates don't mean much in "the industry.") It's just fantastic. That fiery redhead (why are redheads always described that way?) has a great rack voice!

She's kinda like a female Johnny Cash--same husky, smoky voice, same swagger and morbid humor.
Whether it's an original song or an old standard, she's just fantastic. Even the hidden track at the end, where she suggests all the "extra" children be fed to hungry tigers (they're "noble" and "sleek") is great. "We're not doing anything with them...children are loud and messy."

At least this picture is safe for work. A little googling will get you to a lot more of Ms Case.
