Devilishly Handsome and Oh-So-Clever

That's me and my new glasses.
I told the secretary at work that I think they make me look like a 1960s Italian film director. She just stared at me blankly.

The only problem is, the little iSight camera makes it look like I have an abundant crop of nose hair. I don't think I do. You'll have to come check for yourself.

Bring scissors.

On This Roof I Play This Riff

Play it till my hands are hollow.
Music is the antidote to the world of pain and sorrow.

I can't remember if I posted this before or not.

Oh, To Be the Cream

Sam lost his first top front tooth today. He yanked it out at school and they gave him one of those little tooth-shaped plastic holders.
Well, as Sam himself would say, he lost his "toof," fank you very much!
Gabe wrote the Tooth Fairy a note requesting that the tooth be delivered to him. Sam didn't agree.

The Secret is Out

The Decemberists played a "secret" show (publicized on their myspace and message board, and, I hear, Portland radio) the other day and there's video of it, for everyone who wants to see some well-lubricated Decemberists playing their brand-new songs. A very kind person shot this, stayed up for days posting it to google video and still managed to look beautiful and feed and water her children (we assume).

Dreamy Host

I took this on my Saturday ride, with the cheapo digital camera I sometimes take on rides. Funky!

I'm currently busy in the background, uploading old graphics and files to the new server, haggling with a less-than-dreamy FORMER webhost...

Bob Dylan, Fort Wayne, September 5, 2006

He's sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all
Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall

Now you would not think to look at him
But he was famous long ago

Actually, Bob seemed to be in a good mood and like he was enjoying himself. He even sort of busted some moves at the keyboard. They played Cat's In The Well, Tweedle Dee, Girl/North Coutnry, Hwy 61, Tangled Up In Blue and I think that new one Someday Baby, some more songs, and then encored with Rolling Stone and Watchtower.

I'v emade a whole buncha typos and have fixed most the thtem. But I think there was a lot of herbal enjoyment at the show (at least it smelled that way and it's getting late, so this is as good as I can do tongihthtg.

I'm sure the Dylanaholics will have a complete setlist and bootleg up with hours, somewhere on the interent.

That's it, I'm done.

EDIT: yup, there it is already here
I coulda sworn they played that new one, but then everything had that roockabilly twang doot do do do do-do

Report? Labor Day Weekend, So Far...

2 Kum Ba Yas
1 Michael, Row The Boat Ashore
2 Norwegian Woods
2 I Don't Believe Yous
1 Old-Time Religion
Classic!
And 1 me, not paying attention to my younger son being mock-strangled by our friends' child.

Also, 2 hotdogs (relish, mustard, onions) and a few chips.
And only 23 miles (but I hope to correct that tomorrow).

You Say That To Everyone!

September Song of the Month, don't tell Stephin Merritt about it (he seems grouchy). I don't think I murdered the song, but I may have bruised it a bit. The Lair link in the North East corner of the page will get you there (and beyond!)

Who said I have chubby cheeks? Who?
